Officials with the Connecticut judicial branch are warning of two separate scams targeting residents across the state. The first scam falsely claims that the recipient of the text has received a traffic citation and that the recipient failed to pay a fine. In some cases, the name of a Connecticut state court judge is in the text to make it seem more serious. The second scam falsely claims that the recipient has failed to appear for jury service and must now pay a penalty.
